This important behind-the-scenes opportunity includes unloading boxes containing race bags, medals, event materials, and other race-day supplies. Once materials are unloaded, volunteers will help organize and stage boxes that hold approximately 4,000 race bags to prepare for Packet Pick-Up.

Volunteer tasks may include:

Packet Pick-Up is a drive-thru event held on HumanKind's campus, where participants receive their race materials before race day. Volunteers play a critical role in ensuring the experience is organized, efficient, and welcoming.

Volunteers will be assigned roles upon arrival. While we will do our best to honor role preferences submitted in advance, flexibility is appreciated as volunteer needs may change throughout the event.

Volunteer Roles May Include:

Directing traffic and greeting participantsAssisting at the Welcome TentRetrieving race packets for participantsSupporting the Customer Service/Troubleshooting TentAssisting with Large Group Packet DistributionAssembling Race Bags as participants register 

In addition to these duties:

First Shift of Each Day: Volunteers will help set up Packet Pick-Up areas before participants arrive.Last Shift of Each Day: Volunteers will assist with cleaning up and resetting Packet Pick-Up areas after the event concludes for the day.Special Note for November 25: The final shift on November 25 will include packing up remaining supplies, race materials, and equipment to prepare for race day operations on Thanksgiving morning.

This opportunity involves standing, walking, working outdoors, and assisting participants throughout the shift.
