Frequently Asked Questions

How old do you have to be to volunteer?

Volunteers of all ages are welcome! However:

  • All minors must have a parent or guardian complete required consent forms.

  • Volunteers under 13 years old must have a parent or guardian present with them at all times.

  • Some opportunities may not be appropriate for younger volunteers due to safety or project requirements.

If you have questions about age requirements for a specific opportunity, please reach out to our Volunteer Specialist.

How do I sign my child up to volunteer?

Each user account on Galaxy Digital requires a valid email address.

Because of this, children who register individually must have their own active email address and account.

Another option is to register as a Team. Parents can reserve additional volunteer spots for their children by adding extra reserved slots during registration.

Example:
A parent volunteering with two children would register themselves and reserve two additional spots.

Can I complete court-ordered community service hours?

Volunteers under 18 are not eligible for court-ordered community service opportunities.

Adults over 18 requesting court-ordered service hours must:

  • Disclose the reason for required service hours

  • Be reviewed by HumanKind’s Human Resources team

  • Receive approval before volunteering

Please note:
Hours will not be signed off until approval has been completed.

Can I complete school or work-required service hours?

Yes!

If you need volunteer hours for school, scholarships, internships, work programs, or other requirements, please contact:

We are happy to help answer questions and provide documentation when appropriate.
