Join us at HumanKind’s Lynchburg Early Head Start campus for a hands-on, heart-forward volunteer opportunity! Volunteers will help pack $35 to $40 worth of fresh produce in bags from the 1600 pounds of produce that we receive for Early Head Start families. This is all in effort to make nutritious food easier to access and empowering families to feel confident picking up items that will support them at home.
We’ll meet outside at 1200 Fenwick Drive from 12–1 PM to pack and 4-5pm to clean up. Snacks will be provided — just be sure to dress for the weather! Please note, due to child protection policies, volunteers will not be able to enter the building while children are there.
This opportunity does require lifting, but we can have a volunteer dedicated to be done in a chair if needed!
This is a recurring need on the last Wednesday of every month, and we are looking for 4 volunteers each time to help make this possible, if you would like to come monthly please let us know!
